Sambal – a spicy sauce great for stir fry

It’s no secret that I have committed to a Whole Food Plant Based diet and enjoy very much the dishes I have been finding and creating. As I progress I am developing my own eye for recipes and look forward to sharing them with you.

This first one is for a Sambal Sauce which is used in an Indonesian Dish called Nasi Goering. The sauce stands well on it’s own as a dipping sauce, or when doing a stir fry put 3 Tablespoons in the pan first to give the veggies a great flavor.

Sambal

3 Red Chillis
3 Cloves Garlic
1 tbs Tomato Puree
1 tbs Lemon Grass Paste – Can Substitute Green Curry
2 tbs Ground Nut Oil
1 tsp Sea Salt
Juice & Zest of a Lime

Put all ingredients in a blender (I use a Nutri Bullet) and blend till smooth.
Will keep 4 weeks in the fridge.
